The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance for pursuing higher education from foreign universities for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates through Indira Gandhi Centre for Career Development.

1. Candidate must have passed Degree.
2. Candidate Should be a permanent resident of Karnataka State.
3. Candidate Should be included in the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes of the State of Karnataka.
4. Candidate age :
(i)PG: Below 40 years
(ii)PhD: Below 45 years .

| 3. | For Residential Hostel Students | 10% |
| 4. | For Female Candidates | 33% |
| 5. | Children's of Nomadic / Semi-Nomadic | 5% |
| 6. | For other Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates | 38% |
| 1. | Income < ₹10 lakhs/year | 100% grant (full financial support) |
| 2. | Income ₹10–20 lakhs/year | 50% scholarship + 50% loan facility |
| 3. | Income ₹20–30 lakhs/year | 25% scholarship + 50% loan facility |
