Pre-Exam Training for Various Competitive Exams

About Training

Through Indira Gandhi Centre for Career Development, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates are assigned to training institutes in different districts of Delhi, Hyderabad and Karnataka for preliminary training from 3 months to 7 months for the competitive examinations conducted for UPSC/KPSC/Banking/SSC/RRB and Group ‘C’ posts.

Selection Criteria

1. Must have passed Degree.
2. Should be a permanent resident of Karnataka State.
3. Candidate Should be included in the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes of the State of Karnataka.
4. Annual family income should not exceed Rs.5 lakhs
5. Candidate age should be between 18 to 40 years.
6. A candidate who has already avail training for UPSC examinations will not be eligible to training for any examinations.
7. A candidate who has already avail 3 months training for Banking / RRB / SSC / Group-C examinations, will be eligible to training for UPSC / KAS examinations only.
8. Students seeking hostel reservation must have been a resident of hostels under Social Welfare Department, Directorate of Scheduled Tribes for at least 3 years.
9. Students seeking residential school reservation must have completed at least 5 years of education in Morarji Desai / Kittoor Rani Chennamma / Ambedkar Residential Schools under Karnataka Residential Education Institute and Department.
10. If the prescribed number of candidates are not available in the above reservations, other Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates will be accommodated.

1. For the Physically Handicap candidates 4%
2. For Hostel Students 10%
3. For Residential Hostel Students 10%
4. For Female Candidates 33%
5. Children's of Nomadic / Semi-Nomadic 5%
6. For other Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates 38%

Applications are invited from eligible candidates every year.

Common Entrance Test

Common Entrance Test will be conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority / Central Enrollment Unit or other authority for the applied candidates.

Selection of candidates

Candidates will be selected through counseling based on the selection of the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test.
Candidates in Counseling can choose any training institute as per their choice among the training institutes selected through tender by the department.

2. KAS 7 Months
3. Banking 3 Months
4. SSC 3 Months
5. RRB 3 Months
6. Group 'C' 3 Months

Stipend and Traveling Allowance

UPSC
1. Delhi Rs. 15,000/- monthly stipend and traveling allowance Rs. 2,000/-
2. Hyderabad Rs. 10,000/- monthly stipend and traveling allowance Rs. 1,000/-
3. Bengaluru Rs. 10,000/- monthly stipend and traveling allowance Rs. 1,000/-
4. Other places Rs. 8000/-
